L'artista canadese Peter Blais, nato a Ottawa nel 1949, si è laureato alla Carleton University con un Bachelor of Arts nel 1970. A metà degli anni '70, si è affermato a Toronto come artista emergente della fibra, con mostre personali alla galleria di artigianato Tradewinds a Yorkville e al St Lawrence Center for the Performing Arts.
